DAAD

Program Information

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the German national agency for support of international academic cooperation. DAAD offers programs and funding for students to go to Germany to study (Undergraduate Scholarship), learn German (Intensive Language Courses in Germany), or conduct research (RISE Germany).

Eligibility

Undergraduate Scholarship

For funding study, thesis research or internships in Germany. Students must be:

  • Sophomores or Juniors in any academic field of study.
  • Seeking academic credit for their experience in Germany.

Intensive Language Courses in Germany

DAAD offers 8-week intensive language courses at leading institutes in Germany. Students must be:

  • Full-time students in any field of study except German Studies, German Language and Literature or German Translation and Interpretation. Must have an elementary understanding of German.

RISE Germany - Research Internships in Science and Engineering

Summer internships in Germany in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, computer science and engineering. Students must be:

  • Juniors or seniors majoring in science or engineering.

Award Information

Awards vary by scholarship but typically cover the full cost of the program and provide a modest stipend for housing and travel costs.
