Soros Fellowship

Program Information

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans supports New Americans, immigrants or the children of immigrants who are pursuing graduate school in the United States. Fellows are selected based on the following criteria: creativity, originality, and initiative; commitment to and capacity for accomplishment; commitment to the values expressed in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Soros Scholarship you must be:

  • A person with New American status. View for the criteria to have that status.
  • Pursuing a graduate degree at an eligible graduate degree program at a U.S. university. If you have not yet entered your third year of graduate study at the time of the application, you are eligible.
  • Thirty years old or younger as of the application deadline

Award Information

Each fellowship supports one to two years of graduate study in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the United States. Each award provides a stipend and 50% of required tuition for one to two years.
