Lisa Di Bartolomeo
Dr. Lisa Di Bartolomeo arrived at WVU in 2005 to re-build and coordinate the Russian language program, now a successful Area of Emphasis. She supervises teaching assistants and lecturers as well as all levels of Russian courses.
In addition to coordinating the Russian Studies program and advising its majors, Dr. Di Bartolomeo also coordinates the Slavic and East European Studies program (SEES), advising students and devising curriculum. She also advises the extremely active WVU Russian Club, and runs the annual Foreign Language Department’s Spring Spectacular performance.
Dr. Di Bartolomeo supervises several successful study abroad programs, including programs in St Petersburg, Russia, Romania, Czech Republic, and Poland. Her teaching covers a large range of topics, including Russian language and literature, Polish cinema, science fiction, Holocaust literature and film, folklore and fairy tales, and vampire literature and film. Her research interests include Polish cinema, vampire literature and film, and Slavic folklore.
Dr. Di Bartolomeo is a 1991 Marshall Scholar and the current faculty advisor for the Marshall Scholarship here at WVU.
